HYDERABAD, Oct 18 District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil inaugurated a modern trauma centre at Hala Naka here on Saturday. With the exception of Karachi, this is the first centre of its kind in Sindh.

The trauma centre has been set up at a cost of Rs150 million. The centre, equipped with advanced machines, also has a helipad on the roof for helicopter ambulance.

Mr Jamil said that the centre had 35 beds which would be increased to 100 by June next year, ambulances equipped with ventilators would be purchased for the centre which would remain open 24 hours a day.

The nazim pointed out that the district government had built seven hospitals, renovated and expanded the existing hospitals and purchased equipment (for the hospitals) at a cost of tens of millions of rupees.
