LAHORE, Nov 4 The police say the suicide bomber, who blew himself up at Babu Sabu police check-post in Sherakot on Monday last, is from Darya Khan tehsil, Bhakkar district.

A police official told Dawn that the police believed the bomber was from Darya Khan or its surroundings, after reported inquiries from an intelligence agency.

He said photographs of the bomber had been circulated for all law-enforcement agencies and Bhakkar police to ascertain his identification.

The official said the police investigation into the Babu Sabu suicide attack had been extended to southern Punjab, where three terror networks were active.

Besides, the hunt was on to trace the bomber's accomplices, including an aged man, who, according to some witnesses, went missing from the spot.

Investigators could not interrogate car driver Malik Ejaz Ishaq, who is still in hospital after his operation.
