RAWALPINDI, Nov 8 Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday directed the civic authorities to utilise all resources for the early completion of development schemes in Murree, preferably before this season's snowfall.

Mr Sharif said a comprehensive plan was being implemented expeditiously for the beautification of Murree and provision of facilities to the tourists.According to a press release, the chief minister was presiding over a meeting of the district administration at the Government House, Murree. Rawalpindi division's Commissioner Zahid Saeed, District Coordination Officer Imadadullah Bosal, National Engineering Services Pakistan (Nespak) representatives as well as other senior officers attended the meeting.

Mr Sharif directed officers of the departments concerned and representatives of different institutions to maintain close coordination at every level to ensure that the objectives of development strategy were achieved for the benefit of the people.

He said while executing the projects, the civic agencies should also ensure parking and other facilities for the visitors. He said other recreational spots in the area should also be developed to attract maximum number of tourists.

The meeting reviewed the pace of work on different projects, including the construction of parking plazas at Dhobi Ghat and Jheka Gali, repair and construction of link roads, development of parks, cable cars, streetlights, removal of encroachments, horticulture schemes and repair and widening of Rawalpindi-Murree Road.

Rawalpindi's commissioner and officers of different departments briefed the meeting.
