OKARA Four members of a family were burnt alive while three others, including a child, sustained injuries after a hut caught fire here on Monday morning in Kandarky village, Depalpur (Okara district).
 
Reports said a woman was pouring oil in an earthen lamp in her hut situated at Sutlej river belt near Head Sulemanki at Pak-India zero line. Suddenly a fire erupted which also engulfed the adjacent hut due to blowing winds.

As a result Hameedan Bibi, Husna Bibi, six-year-old Allah Rakhi and three-year-old Zaman were burnt alive, while Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Ahmad and Allah Ditta, 6, living in the adjacent hut sustained critical burns.

The injured were shifted to the Haveli Lakha rural health centre from where they were referred to Lahore after first aid.
