LARKANA, July 29: The general body of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) and the Chandka Teachers Association (CTA) here on Monday condemned the attack on Prof Zaffar Pirzado and demanded to arrest the culprits till Thursday.

Prof Pirzado is vice-principal of the Chandka Medical College (CMC).

PMA president Dr Ikram Tunio, CTA president Dr Malik Jalbani, CMC principal Prof Sher Mohammad Shaikh and others termed the attack a conspiracy to harass the faculty and defame the college.

The Basic Health Units throughout the district, the out patients department of the CMC Hospital and regular classes of the CMC would remain suspended from 10am to 12 at noon from Tuesday to Thursday as a token protest against the incident, the meeting decided.

The general body warned the administration of extreme steps if it failed to arrest the culprits.

A seven-member committee, was formed to apprise the district coordination officer, district police officer and others of the case and the prevailing sense of insecurity among the faculty members.
