KARACHI, Nov 12 The pair of sisters — Faryal Shahzad and Mahoor Shahzad — of Sindh claimed the girls' under-16 doubles title in the National Juniors Badminton championships which is in progress in Faisalabad on Thursday.

According to results, the two upcoming girls of Karachi teamed up together to beat Punjab's Hina and Hira 21-13, 21-18 in the final.

However, the duo was beaten in the under-19 final to Railways Anila Irshad and Hira Tahir 19-21, 13-21.

Meanwhile, the girls' under-16 and under-19 finals will be an all-sisters affair after Faryal and Mahoor entered their names in the annals of the game. Mahoor, the younger of the two, accounted for Hira Tahir of Faisalabad 23-21, 21-10 in the girls' under-16 singles pre-final to set up a date with elder sister Faryal, who, in the other encounter, got past Punjab's Hina 21-14, 21-13.

Similarly, Mahoor struggled to overcome Railways Anila Irshad 19-21, 21-18, 21-11 to make it to the girls' under-19 singles final where she meets Faryal, who routed teammate Saba Mughal 21-15, 21-16.

The event concludes on Friday.
