KARACHI Pakistan's top cueist, Mohammad Sajjad, conjured up third straight win when he downed Belgium's Mario Van Herk 4-2 to strengthen his position of making it to the next round in the IBSF World Snooker championship in Hyderabad, India, on Tuesday.

Having won previous two matches, Sajjad maintained his form and was home 86-28, 3-62, 66-21, 15-64, 52-50, 69-26.

However, his fellow countryman and Pakistan No 2 Mohammad Asif, suffered the first defeat in three outings when he went down fighting 3-4 to Ireland's Mario Fernandez.

Asif, who had two victories under his belt, fought back in the game twice before losing the decisive frame. The Irish player won the battle 64-30, 89-1, 57-68, 46-53, 80-35, 43-67, 86-44.
