ISLAMABAD President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the government wants to extend the twin processes of negotiation and reconciliation to the province of Balochistan.

However, he has also pointed out that the government wants to amicably resolve all outstanding issues without undermining the federal framework.

President Zardari was talking to a delegation of Baloch elders in Islamabad which comprised of Dr Abdul Malik Baloch of Balochistan National Movement (BNM), Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai of Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), Senator Abdul Rahim Khan Mandokhel of PKMAP and Akram Shah of PKMAP.

The president urged the leaders to step forward and help in the reconciliation process.

The Baloch elders said they will not tolerate any conspiracy against the president and the democratic dispensation and will resist any attempt by anyone to destabilize the system.

The president said that the government was planning to build four dams in Balochistan.

He assured that the state-owned command irrigation lands under these dams will be distributed free of cost among the poor women of the area.
