PESHAWAR, Aug 2: Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao was elected unopposed chairman of his own faction of the Pakistan People’s Party here on Friday.

Saifur Rehman Kiani, election commissioner, supervised the PPP (Sherpao) elections here at the People’s House on Friday. All the central office-bearers were elected unopposed for the main six posts.

Those who got elected included: Kamran Khan (general secretary), Syed Muzamal Shah (vice-chairman), Ghani Mohammad Khan (deputy general secretary), Barrister Iftekhar (information secretary) and Aneesa Zeb (finance secretary).

The provincial cabinet comprises Ahmed Hasan Khan (chairman), Ghanidad Khan (senior vice-chairman), Haq Nawaz, Mureed Kazim, Syed Alauddin and Mohabat Ali Zafar (four vice-chairmen), Kamal Shah (information secretary) and Saadullah Shah Khattak (finance secretary) who defeated Rehm Badshah.
