ISLAMABAD A local court in Rawalpindi once again issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf, rejecting his application for exemption to appear in person.
Raja Pervez was last served a non-bailable arrest warrant in November 2009 for failing to appear before the court despite repeated summons. The minister filed an application for exemption, which was rejected by civil judge Rai Afzaal Kharal.
He has now been directed to appear in person on Monday, January 18, 2010.
The warrant is for a criminal case registered in 1998 implicating Raja Pervez and others for quarrelling and misbehaving with the staff of the Lahore High Court. -DawnNews
