KOHAT, Jan 2 Three persons were killed and another was injured when a Rawalpindi-bound train hit a car at railway crossing in Togh Payan area of Kohat district on Saturday.

The driver of the car, Fazal Kareem, a resident of Miran Shah, miraculously escaped and sustained minor injuries. He was shifted to KDA hospital.

Meanwhile, investigations into the death of two militants in accidental blast in Hangu have revealed that it was the case of internal rivalry between the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and local militant outfit Hanfi Tehrik.

Police raided the house of one of the victims, Shafiur Rehman and arrested his brother Waliur Rehman on Saturday. The other terrorist was identified as Noorza Gul.

It may be recalled that two militants were killed while planting a 10-kilogram improvised explosive device at a house in Zargari area of Hangu district on Friday morning.

The investigators found a mobile phone SIM and a national identity card at the crime scene and contacted Nadra office and the mobile company.

The police registered case against the local chief of Hanfi Tehrik, Mohammad Farooq and eight other members -- Rehmat Shah, Lal Sher, Gulab Sher, Abdul Basit, Farooq Ahmed, Abdul Qayyum, Tayyabullah and Hamid.

Mufti Ilyas, amir of Sipah-i-Sahaba wing of Orakzai Taliban, and Maulana Moahmmad Nabi Hanfi, chief of Hanfi Tehrik, are considered bitter enemies. The killed militants, belonging to Hanfi Tehrik, were planting bomb at the house of the Mufti Ilyas but it went off prematurely. —Correspondent
