QUETTA Hundreds of union council members and district and town nazims took to the streets in Quetta on Thursday against the abolishment of the local government system, DawnNews reported.
The rally was taken out from the city district government lawn and marched up to the Quetta Press Club.
The rally was headed by a former chairman of the National Reconstruction Bureau Daniyal Aziz.
The protesters demanded repeal of the Balochistan Local Government Amendment Act 2010 which was passed by the provincial assembly on January 9.
Representatives from three other provinces also took part in the rally. — DawnNews
