LAHORE President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has expressed hope that Pakistan will fare well in the forthcoming hockey World Cup, to be held in Delhi, India, in Jan-Feb this year.

The president was meeting with Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Qasim Zia at the Governor House here on Thursday.

A PHF spokesman said that the president also hailed the performance of the PHF in the recent past and hoped that it would continue in the World Cup, too.

He added that the president extended full support of the government for the promotion of hockey in the country.

The PHF president, too, assured the president that every possible step was being taken in honing the boys' skills for the mega event and hopefully the nation would witness a better performance from the side.
