LAHORE Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) included discarded goalkeeper Salman Akbar among the 24 probables announced for the national training camp for the 2010-World Cup.

The camp for the mega event, scheduled to be held in New Delhi, India, in Jan-Feb, will be set up at the National Hockey Stadium here from Jan 25.

The PHF, surprisingly, announced the names of the probables the day of the national team's departure to Doha, Qatar, to play a two-Test match series against the Netherlands, showing little care for the performance and discipline of any of the members during the tour.

Salman was not selected for the Doha-bound team for his poor performance in Salta, Argentina, where Pakistan failed to qualify for the Champions Trophy after being defeated by New Zealand in the final.

Probables

Nasir Ahmad, Salman Akbar, Zeeshan Ashraf (captain), Sohail Abbas, Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Irfan, Waseem Ahmad, Sajjad Anwar, Fareed Ahmed, Mohammad Rashid, Rehan Butt, Shakeel Abbasi, Abdul Haseem Khan, Mohammad Zubair, Akhtar Ali, Mohammad Rizwan (Army), Mohammad Rizwan (Faisalabad), Waqas Sharif, Umar Bhutta, Imran Shah, Kashif Shah, Mohammad Tauseeq, Shafqat Rasool, Abbas Haider.
