ISLAMABAD, Aug 7: Air Vice-Marshal Tanvir M. Ahmed has been promoted to Air Marshal, according to a ministry of defence notification issued on Wednesday.

He has held various command and staff appointments, which included commands of a fighter squadron, a fighter wing, and an operational base.

He has served as senior air staff officer of a Regional Air Command, and air officer commanding PAF Academy Risalpur.

He was also on deputation with Abu Dhabi Air Force. At present, he is deputy chief of the air staff (administration) at Air Headquarters Chaklala.

He is a graduate of National Defence College, Islamabad.

In recognition of his meritorious services he has been awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-i-Basalat. —APP
