Former hockey Olympian passes away

LAHORE, Jan 29 Former hockey Olympian Mohammad Zahid Sheikh (68) died here on Friday and was laid to rest at a local graveyard.

Zahid represented the country in the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games.

President Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Qasim Zia, Secretary Asif Bajwa, Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali, Rana Mazhar Ali Khan, Hassan Sardar, Khalid Bashir, Farhat Khan, Mohammad Shafiq, Anjum Saeed, Mohammad Usman and Shafqat Malik have condoled the sad demise.—Our Sports Reporters
