KARACHI, Feb 3 Seeded players Saba Aziz, Sara Mansoor and Mehak Khokhar took a brisk start registering emphatic victories over their respective opponents to advance in the singles event of Subh-e-Nau Ladies National Tennis championship at Modern Club on Wednesday.

Second seed Saba Aziz from Lahore who won the ladies singles title in the Pakistan Open here last year, had a convincing 6-0, 6-0 sailing over local player Urooj Iltifat to reach the last eight stage.

Third seed Sara Mansoor, the reigning national clay court champion, accounted for Hina Siddiqui 6-0, 6-0 to join Saba in quarter-finals.

Fourth seed Mehak Khokhar who also hails from Islamabad gave a 6-1, 6-3 drubbing to Sara Ahmed who got a walkover against Nadeem Manzoor in the first round. Mehak has also reached the last eight.

Country's top ranked player Sarah Mahboob demonstrated her acumen when she teamed up with Sara Mansoor to register 6-0, 6-1 victory over Hina Siddiqui and Saima Batool in the ladies doubles.
