KARACHI, Feb 18 Defending champion Umair Alam and Abdul Sattar sneaked into the final of the 18th Sindh Cup snooker contest registering emphatic victories over their opponents in the two semi-finals at Aly's parlour on Thursday.

Umair, who has reached his second successive final of the provincial cup, blanked Farrukh Usman 5-0 the scores being 66-37, 90-41, 61-21, 65-26, 86-1.

Contrary to Umair's straight win, Abdul Sattar who was top seed was extended to seven frames by Mohammad Akmal before emerging 74-79, 60-38, 59-58, 66-12, 50-59, 59-47, 60-52 victorious.

Earlier, Umair powered to 4-2 victory over Najam-ur-Rehman while Abdul Sattar was home 4-0 over Naseem Paracha in the quarter-finals.

In the fiercely fought two other quarter-finals, Mohammad Akmal struggled to beat S.M.Ali Zaidi 4-3 so does Farrukh Usman who accounted for Zulfiqar Ali by the identical score line.

Curtain falls on the event on Friday.
