QUETTA Two personnel of Frontier Corps were killed and two others injured when a bomb exploded on the Spiny road on Friday night.

Sources said the bomb went off when two vehicles of FC on patrol reached a narrow street.

The blast hit one of the vehicles, killing a soldier on the spot and injuring three others. The injured were taken to the Combined Military Hospital. One of them died there.

A spokesman for Frontier Corps identified the two soldiers as Ziaur Rehman and Mohammad Asif who were sitting on backside of the vehicle. The injured included Mohammad Ikram and Mumtaz.

“The bomb was planted by the roadside. It exploded when one of the vehicles came near it,” a police officer said.

SIBI BLAST Two people were injured when a bomb exploded on the Jinnah Road in Sibi town.

Sources said the blast took place close to a car parked on the road. The injured were taken to the Sibi civil hospital.
