Gem bazaar opens in Quetta

QUETTA, March 6 The fourth gem bazaar opened here on Saturday with precious and semi-precious gemstones of several kinds on display.

The bazaar, organised by the Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC), was inaugurated by Balochistan Mines and Minerals Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Raisani.

A PGJDC spokesman said the bazaar would provide an opportunity to buyers and sellers under one roof.

He said efforts had been made to offer quality products at competitive prices and expressed the hope that the bazaar would help promote gemstone business in the country.

He said that 35 exhibitors had put on display emerald, ruby, sapphire, topaz and other stones found in Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Swat.—APP
