QUETTA Police have arrested 20 people for their suspected involvement in a recent suicide attack inside a hospital.

Sources said that police and personnel of other law-enforcement agencies conducted raids at various places in Quetta on Saturday night and picked up 20 suspects for interrogation.

A senior police officer told Dawn on Sunday the suspects belonged to some proscribed organisations.

A police team comprising senior officers has started investigations into the Friday attack.

They visited the blast site in civil hospital and examined evidences gathered from the site.

They recorded statements of injured people, including journalists, who were under treatment in the CMH, Quetta and civil hospital.

DIG (Investigations) Qazi Wahid told Dawn that the suspected suicide bomber had not been identified, adding that photographs of his head would be released to media for identification.
