KARACHI, April 21 The quartet of seeded players including the three Khan brothers were through to the men's singles semi-finals of the Sindh Open ranking tennis tournament by getting the better of their opponents at the Beach View Club on Wednesday.

Top seed Aqeel Khan demolished Imran Shoukat from Multan, the fifth seed, 6-3, 6-1. Similarly, second seed Jalil Khan was home 6-7, 6-0 (retired) against Saif Noor Sumar. Third seed Yasir Khan whipped Mohammad Abdul Saeed 6-4, 6-0 while fourth seed Nomi Qamar accounted for Omer Shahid 6-0, 6-1.

Islamabad's Sara Mansoor also made her appearance in the ladies singles when she overcame Neha Khan 5-0 (retired) in the opener.

Two local players Sara Ahmed and Maheen Dada also registered first round victories over their rivals.

But it was spectacular performance from Hyderabad's Saad Baloch and Rafi Darbari who send second seed pair of Yasir Khan and Nomi Qamer packing to surge in the men's doubles.

The duo of Saad and Rafi recovered from a set down to turn the tables on rivals 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.
