ISLAMABAD The federal government has decided to set-up another joint investigation to further investigate those officials and individuals who were pointed out in the UN report on former Prime Minister Benazir Bhuttos assassination.

The team will comprise of senior police and intelligence officials.

Highly credible sources have revealed to DawnNews that the decision was taken during the PPP core group meeting which was jointly presided over by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.

The Interior Ministry is currently in the process of forming this joint investigation team and has contacted security and intelligence officials.
 
The team would be tasked with interrogating recently suspended police officials and former military officials in order to find the mastermind behind the murder of the former prime minister.

Senior PPP leader Nazar Mohammad Gondal confirmed the development and said that action will taken against those found accountable by the team and criminal proceedings would be launched against them.—DawnNews
