ISLAMABAD, April 24 Imran Qamar from Punjab on Saturday defeated Rambel Gul (NWFP) 4-2 on the third day of the National Ranking snooker championship played at the Pakistan Sports Complex Snooker Hall.

Imran cruised to the victory against Rambel getting a fine break of 92 in the third frame.

Rambel won the first two frames 52-61 and second 06-82(76) but Imran eventually assured the third frame winning it 92(92)-04.

Young Imran held his nerves to compile the last three frames 67-31, 65-12 and 72-03.

Meanwhile, Shehram Changezi from Punjab failed to create an impact in a crucial fixture against Mohammad Asif and lost the match 2-4.

Asif proved too good for the former national champion and survived a real scare against Shehram who lost the first frame 74-29.

However, Shehram played with perseverance in the second frame winning it 63-18.

Asif bounced back in winning style claiming the third and fourth frame 63-32, 75-21.

Shehram successfully locked a break in fifth frame at 62 but could not contain the brilliance of Asif who won the last frame 75-20.

In other fixtures, Imran Shehzad, Raees Khan from Punjab and Sohail Shehzad from Sindh defeated their opponents.
