KARACHI, April 27 The Tughral Shah Khan Memorial National Junior Squash Championship, carrying lucrative prize money of Rs 0.3 million, gets into action at the PN Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan Squash Complex from May 22.

The event is being held under the aegis of Sindh Squash Association to acknowledge the contribution of the retired Army officer who helped build modern squash courts across the country.

A civil engineer by profession, he was pioneer and helped lay wooden floor and back glass wall at the famous PIA Squash Complex which was constructed by a German firm. The complex now ceases to exist.

PN Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, Asif Nawaz Squash Complex, both in the city, and Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad are some of his landmark contributions. He died in Nov 2008 at the age of 60.

The event will be contested in boys' under-11, under-13, under-15, under-17, under-19 categories and girls' under-15 and under-19.

The two-day qualification rounds will be held at the same venue on May 22 and 23 followed by main rounds which conclude on May 27.

The organisers will provide accommodation to outstation players of the main rounds. Last date for submission of entries is May 10.
