QUETTA A superintendent of police and five other people were injured in a bomb explosion in Qambrani road area here on Saturday.

A senior police officer said an explosive device that had been attached to a rickshaw was detonated by remote control when the vehicle of SP Mohammad Alam Parkani came near it on the Qambrani road. Sources said the empty rickshaw was parked by the roadside.

The driver and two gunmen of Mr Parkani were among the injured. The other two injured were passers-by. The injured were taken to civil hospital. The superintendent and the driver were stated to be in serious condition and later shifted to the CMH. — Staff Correspondent.
