LAHORE, May 20 The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has accepted Olympian Shahbaz Ahmed Senior's offer of free coaching help to the country's players and has asked him to coach the national junior team free of cost.

Shahbaz, who along with various other Olympians, has been one of the biggest critics of the current PHF management after the World Cup debacle, who launched a campaign to oust the PHF Secretary Asif Bajwa by holding him responsible for the disaster, stunned everyone just a day earlier by offering his coaching services to the federation for free.

“The PHF appreciates Olympian Shahbaz Ahmad Sr's statement of offering his services for coaching free of cost. The federation, therefore, invites Shahbaz Sr to the training camp of the Pakistan junior hockey team, which will be held here from May 27,” stated a press release from the PHF on Thursday. “Useful tips from Shahbaz Sr will certainly go a long way in helping the youngsters here. The PHF also welcomes other Olympians to come forward for the promotion of the game,” it read.

However, it is still unconfirmed whether Shahbaz Sr will be accepting the offer as he seemed more interested in coaching the senior side.
