KARACHI, June 16 Karachi picked up both the men and women hockey titles at the 13th Sindh Games by winning the finals played at the Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP) on Wednesday.

The men's final saw Karachi trounce Larkana 7-1. Shabbir Khan got a hat-trick when he scored four goals while Irfan Khan added two and Imran Khan one. The lone goal for Larkana was scored by Mumtaz Ali.

The final was also watched by Chief Selector Olympian Hanif Khan, the chief guest on the occasion. Earlier, the third position match played at the Olympian Iftikhar Syed Sports Academy (OISSA) saw Hyderabad beating Sukkur 5-0. Sajid scored two goals for Sukkur while Waseem, Saleem and Sanad contributed one each.

In the women's final, also played at HCP, Karachi beat Sukkur 4-2 on penalty strokes after the regulation time score remained 0-0. For Karachi, the penalties were utilised by Asiya Khan, Uzma Lal, Sumaira Naseem and Fatima Kiran while Kiran and Shaista scored for Sukkur.

The final was watched by Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Women Wing Secretary Tanzeela Aamer Cheema.

Earlier, the third position match at OISSA saw Hyderabad beating Larkana 2-1.
