MULTAN, Aug 26: At least 276 candidates filed their nominations for six seats of national and 13 provincial assemblies in the Multan district.

The maximum number of candidates have submitted papers for NA-149 (Multan-II) where there are 22 contestants followed by 18 in NA-50 (Multan-III), 11 in NA-152 (Multan-V), 10 in NA-153 (Multan-VI), nine in NA-151 (Multan-IV) and seven in NA-148 (Multan-I).

Prominent among the candidates are: Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi and his daughters Amana Hashmi and Maimoona Hashmi for NA-148; Habibullah Shakir advocate, Rafiq Rijwana, Maulvi Sultan Alam Ansari, Taja Langah, Salahuddin Dogar and Malik Naseem Laber for NA-149; Tanveerul Hassan Gilani, Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi, Malik Mukhtar Awan, Abbas Ansari, Khawaja Muhammad Shafiq and Khursheed Khan for NA-150; Syed Ahmed Mujtaba Gilani, Sikandar Bosan and Asim Deharr for NA-151; Syed Asad Murtaza Gilani, Syed Muhammad Raza Gilani, Diwan Jaffar Bukhari, Syed Javed Ali Shah and Qaswar Saeed Mirza for NA-152 and Haji Haneef Tayyab, Rana Qasim Noon, Mujahid Ali Shah for NA-153.

On provincial assembly seats, the known candidates are: Mazhar Jameel Qureshi, Habibullah Shakir, Maulvi Sultan Alam Ansari, Moeen Qureshi, Hafiz Iqbal Khakwani and Shahid Mehmood Khan for PP-194; Nafees Ahmed Ansari, Khaleel Ansari, Rana Arshad Abbas, Rao Zafar Iqbal for PP-195; Ilyas Khan, Mujahid Bhutta and Khursheed Khan for PP-196; Liaquat Dogar, Nawab Nadeemuddin, Naseem Laber and Javed Haider Gardezi for PP-197; Ishaq Bucha, Asim Deharr, Allah Nawaz Durrani and Hasnain Iqbal Shah for PP-198; Abbas Akbar Moni Shah, Syed Nazim Hussain Shah and Khalid Ahmed Khokhar for PP-199; Sikandar Bosan, Ahmed Hassan Deharr and Asim Deharr for PP-200; Mazhar Abbas Raan, Arshad Raan, Haider Zaman Gardezi for PP-201; Rai Mansab Ali, Ghulam Yazdani Gilani and Dr Akhtar Malik for PP-202; Liaquat Marral, Ibraheem Khan and Javed Abdullah for PP-203; Kunwar Zahid Ahmed Khan, Rana Ijaz Noon, Qasim Noon and Qaswar Saeed Mirza for PP-204; Ghulam Abbas Khakhi, Syed Mujahid Ali Shah, Rana Ijaz for PP-205 and Rafiq Ahmed Laang, Sajjad Joiya and Mujahid Ali Shah for PP-206. — Correspondent
