KARACHI Omer Maniya and Sara Ahmed became new Sindh No 1 in men's and women's respectively after Sindh Tennis Association (STA) released the half yearly rankings on Wednesday.

The rankings are based on five Sindh ranking tournaments held during the first half of the year.

Omer, 18, has accumulated 115 points while Sara has collected 105 points to earn the top slots.

Mustafa Zaidi has topped juniors' under-17 ranking securing 105 points while promising Talha Zubair Surmawala has made his mark in boys under-15 pocketing 160 points.

Following are the top four rankings.

Men's singles 1-Omer Maniya (115pts); 2-Saif Noor Sumar (100pts); 3- Nomi Qamer (90pts); 4-Aqeel Khan and Jalil Khan (75pts apiece).

Ladies singles 1-Sara Ahmed (105pts); 2-Seher Khwaja (100pts); 3- Maheen Dada (95pts); Sara Mansoor (50pts).

Juniors' under-17 singles 1-Mustafa Zaidi (105pts); 2-Nameer Shamsi and Abdul Rehman (90pts apiece); 3-Talha Zubair Surmawala (85pts); 4-Hamza Pataudi (75pts).

Boys' under-15 singles 1-Talha Zubair Surmawala (160pts); 2-Hassan Siddiqui (95pts); 3-Shahbaz Fayyaz and Saud Shoaib (90pts); 4-Sanwal Memon (70pts).

Boys' and girls' under-13 singles 1-Maheen Dada (105pts); 2-Azher A. Qadir (90pts); 3-Emad Najam (75pts); 4-Jalaluddin Baber (65pts).

Boys' under-11 singles 1-Mohammed Raza Sawani (125pts); 2-Jalauddin Baber (105pts); 3-Kanishkan Kumar (75pts); 4-Nazif Ahmed and Hassan Farooq (60pts apiece).

Boys' under-9 singles 1-Houd Azhar (125pts); 2-Mohammed Dada (85pts); 3-Mohammed Bilal Imran (55pts); 4-Suhail Fayyaz (50pts).
