QUETTA Four labourers were killed and seven others injured, three of them seriously, when some people opened fire on their vehicle in Surab area of Khuzdar district on Sunday evening.

Police sources said the labourers were going to their camp in a pick-up after finishing their work on an under-construction gas compressor plant in the area.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Ishaq, Jamal Khan, Mukhtar Ahmed and Shabbir Ahmed.

Police said some armed men on motorbikes had opened fire on them.

The injured were Abdul Fateh, Shabbir, Manzoor Ahmed, Khadim Hussain, Maqbool Ahmed, Noor Hasan and Gulab Khan.Frontier Corps and police personnel took the bodies and the injured to Khuzdar civil hospital.

Hospital sources said the condition of three of the injured was serious.
