LARKANA, July 13 The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Larkana, on Tuesday night announced the result of Secondary School Certificate Part-II (class-X) annual examination 2010 science and general groups in which girls outclassed the boys.

According to the statistics 28,646 candidates appeared in the examination in science group and only 1,283 could clinch A-1 grade while 8,517 were placed in A-grade, 10,458 in B, 4295 in C, 424 in D and only four were placed in E-grade. A total of 2001 candidates were declared fail while 1,667 copying cases were detected.

The combined pass percentage remained at 87.20. The females pass percentage was 91.96 whereas the male candidates' pass percentage was 85.26, the announcement said.

In general group out of 1,654 candidates, who appeared in the examination, only 1,284 were declared pass and only one candidate got A-1 grade and 247 cases of unfair means were detected. The announcement said that 185 candidates were placed in A , 646 in B, 406 in C, 44 in D and only two got E-grade.

The combined pass percentage of general group remained 77.06 where the girls' pass percentage was 82.06 and that of boys' 77 per cent, the announcement said.

The controller of examinations Mohammed Alam Thaheem said that the positions in both groups were declared provisionally, as BISE reserved the right of rectifying the mistakes/errors and omissions, the positions/results at any time on the basis of original record of the Board.

Among boys, Asadullah, son of Fareed Ahmed of Sindh Science College Larkana obtained 767 marks and clinched first position. Mohammed Zubair, son of Ghulam Murtaza of District Montessori School Shikarpur got 765 marks stood second while Faraz Ahmed, son of Waqar Ahmed of Victor Public School Jacobabad got 763 marks and stood third.

Among girls, Tahreen Fatima, daughter of Syed Aijaz Ali Shah of Sindh Science College Larkana got 766 marks and stood first. The second position was shared by Marya, daughter of Sarfraz Khan of Strathmore School System Larkana and Murk, daughter of Fida Hussain of OPF Public School Larkana by securing equal 757 marks, while Shireen, daughter of Aftab Ahmed of Shams English School with 755 marks stood third.

In general group firs three positions in order of merit are as under

Among boys, Zahid Hussain, son of Mohammed Suleman of Government High School Mirokhan with 690 marks stood first. Ihsan Ali, son of Mohammed Nawaz of Government Higher Secondary School Garhi Khairo with 663 marks stood second while Imran Khan of Government High School Ghouspur with 657 marks stood third.

Among girls, Rashidah, daughter of Haji Allahdad of Government Higher Secondary School Qubo Saeed Khan with 664 clinched first position. Zaibul Nisa, daughter of Pir Bakhsh of Government High School Mirpur Buriro with 652 marks stood second while Naheed, daughter of Mohammad Moosa of Sindh Arts College Warah with 649 marks stood third.
