LAHORE, July 26 The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) will hold training camps for its national team in Abbottabad and Holland to prepare them for two back-to-back important events of Commonwealth and Asian Games, to be held this year.

PHF secretary Asif Bajwa told Dawn that Pakistan coach Mitchel Van Den Heuvel would conduct the camp in Abbottabad in the first phase from Aug 12 to 26.

He said the camp would be organised in Holland in the second phase from Sept 1 to 20.

He said the coach would pick his supporting staff during the camp in Holland and the team will play two matches each against Poland and Belgium.

He said Pakistan would also play matches against top clubs of Germany and Holland to hone their skills before competing in the Commonwealth Games, starting from Oct 3. After the Commonwealth Games, he said, the boys would have one week rest to start preparations for the Asian Games, to be held in China in November.
