DADU, Aug 21 Floodwater inundated Kotri-Quetta railway track near Amri and Khanote towns on Saturday, suspending traffic on this track.

Around 500 meters of track near Amri and 1,000 meters near Khanote have come under water.

Beside, two 50-foot breaches developed in Zamindari bund at bypass of Khanpur town in Kotri taluka, which flooded Abdullah Shoro, Imamuddin and two other villages.

Water from the breach has reached near main bazaar of Khanpur in kutcha area and residents of the town and adjoining areas have started fleeing to at safe places.

Jamshoro DCO Samiuddin Siddique said that the breach had occurred in a Zamindari bund and Khanpur was located in a kutcha area, which had already been warned. Floodwater had not damaged pakka area, he said.

He said that railway track near Khanote had been inundated but efforts would be made to save it. A part of Petaro link road also came under floodwater which affected traffic on the road.

Floodwater was developing pressure on Indus Highway at Bhago Toro and flood protective embankment close to Sehwan town while water level at Dadu-Moro bridge increased from 132.2RL to 132.3RL on Saturday. Floodwater again started developing pressure on Dadu-Larkana flood protective bund close to Dadu.
