LAHORE, Sept 3: Leaders of various political and religious parties have condemned suicide attacks in Quetta and Lahore and described these as a conspiracy against Islam. They do not rule out involvement of foreign forces in the attacks.

Nawaz Sharif, chief of his own faction of the Pakistan Muslim League, condemned the attacks and described these as inhumane and a conspiracy against Islam.

Pervaiz Elahi, provincial president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, and his son Moonis Elahi said rule of law was absent from the country and the government had failed to protect people's lives and properties.

Calling for their resignations, PML-Q leaders said the rulers were busy in saving their governments, leaving the masses at the mercy of terrorists and criminals. “Mere condemnations will not solve the problem. The government should step down to give a chance to those who can really solve people's problems.”

Jamaat-e-Islami chief Syed Munawar Hasan and secretary general Liaquat Baloch said the government had failed to establish its writ in the country. They said RAW and Blackwater were behind Lahore and Quetta attacks because they wanted to spark sectarian violence in Pakistan.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan said the entire country was in flames because of poor policies of the government. He said a conspiracy was being hatched to push Pakistan toward a Shia-Sunni conflict and make it another Iraq. Faiza:

The women's wing of the PPP's Lahore chapter has demanded removal of all those from the Punjab government who have links with banned religious organisations.

In a statement on Friday, PPP women's wing Lahore chapter president MPA Faiza Malik demanded removal of the elements in the provincial government involved in patronising the banned outfits.

She said the countrymen were sacrificing their lives in a war against terror, and those who said that it was someone else's war were enemy of the country.

We should all become united and should not allow the extremist elements to succeed in their nefarious designs, she added.
