DADU, Sept 4 The Army has taken over the construction of ring embankments around Dadu city because of the threat of floodwater coming from the inundated Khairpur Natha Shah taluka and high flow in the MNV drain.

PPP MPA Kalsoom Chandio advised the 300,000 inhabitants to shift to safer places as the city was facing a flooding threat.

Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq told a private channel that arrangements were afoot for shifting the residents of rural areas of Dadu, Mehar and Khairpur Nathan Shah and Johi talukas to Hyderabad and Karachi.

He said that people living in villages around Dadu city were being advised to shift to safer places but such a warning had not been issued for those in Dadu city.

He said that decision regarding vacating the city would be taken after assessing the flood water situation.
