LARKANA, Oct 11 Larkana police busted a gang involved in the kidnapping of children and recovered from their custody a boy of class seven while arresting two brothers involved in the crime.

Furqan Shaikh of the Government High School was abducted from Murad Wahan locality on September 27, and his kidnapping remained a mystery till October 3, when his abductors contacted the boy's uncle Mumtaz Shaikh with a demand of Rs2 crore, said the DPO Larkana, Irfan Baloch. They decreased the ransom amount to Rs20 lakh, he said

Police during the process of negotiations kept tracing the caller and eventually led to Nadeem Memon residing in the area from where the boy was kidnapped, he said.

Kidnappers with the help of their brother Irshad, the boy's classmate, accomplished the task and first took their captive to Sehwan Shareef by train and then to Multan.

Police interrogated Nadeem Memon who took the police to a room near the shrine of Shah Rukin-i-Alam in Multan from where the kidnapped boy was recovered, besides arresting Nadeem's brother Waseem Memon, said the DPO.

The duo were taken to Larkana where they revealed that they rented a house at Samtia Road during the flooding and also disclosed the names of three others linked to a gang of child-lifters, he said adding that a case of kidnapping for ransom has been registered against them.

LAWYERS' KIDNAPPING Police have tightened the noose around the place where Ali Azahr Tunio, a senior lawyer and former additional advocate general, Altaf Abro deputy controller of examination BISE Sukkur and Abdul Sattar Khokhar, a driver, are reportedly being kept.

They were abducted while coming to Larkana from Sukkur on September 27.

The DPO Larkana, Irfan Baloch said that the gang of dacoits Gulsher Brohi and Wahid Bakhsh Brohi are behind the kidnapping.
