Colleges being set up in Charsadda

CHARSADDA, Sept 14: The district government was determined to take steps in the setting up of educational institutions and vocational centres for women in the district.

District Nazim Naseer Mohammad Khan said this at a certificate distribution ceremony at the industrial centre for women welfare at Tangi district.

He said the district government had initiated several projects for providing women their due status in the society. Developmental funds had also been released to female members of the district assembly so that they could utilize it for the welfare of women.

For the improvement of female education, he said, the district government had announced the construction of a college for women in Tangi, a degree college in Shabqadar and upgradation of Uthmanzai girls school.

He said earlier there was only one degree college for women in the district which could not catter to the needs of the female education.

He appreciated the tehsil council for the provision of computers to the industrial centre and also appreciated the efforts of Amadia Begum, member district assembly, for the welfare of women of the area.

Assistant Director of Information and other official staff were also present on the occasion. Later the district nazim distributed certificates among 24 female students of the centre.
