MIRANSHAH, Oct 18: US drones fired six missiles at a compound and vehicle in a village in North Waziristan region on Monday, killing seven militants and injuring two others, sources said.

The house and the vehicle were destroyed in the attack in Sunzali area of Datta Khel tehsil, about 45km west of Miramshah.

The sources said that several unmanned planes kept flying over the area which was cordoned off by local militants after the strike. AFP adds:

“The identities of those killed in the strike are not yet known,” a security official said on condition of anonymity.

“There are still four drones flying over Datta Khel,” he said.
