KARACHI, Oct 23: Quetta sneaked into semi-finals of the PCB-Pepsi Cricket Stars Under-16 cricket tournament with a thrilling one wicket victory the previously unbeaten Karachi at the NBP Sports Complex here on Saturday.
Chasing a target of 205, Quetta were home with their last pair at the crease with three balls to spare. The platform of their success was provided by Saeed Ahmed (65 off 118 balls, five boundaries) and Aamir Majeed (53 off 88 balls, four fours) who put on 95 for the third wicket.
Medium-pacer Jam Saifullah bagged 4-30.
Earlier, Karachi, who had already qualified for the semi-finals after having won four games on the trot and opted to rest several regular members from this fixture, were all out for 204 in the 48th over with opener Mohammad Afzal contributing 43.
In the other last-round matches, Faisalabad defeated Sialkot by six wickets and Hyderabad emerging winners by four wickets against Multan.
