He stated this while speaking at the convocation of CIIT Attock campus on Thursday.

Dr Zaidi said they had already started procurement of equipment, furniture and other logistics and appointment of staff besides establishing additional labs and disciplines for the BS electronic programme.

About upgradation of the campus into an IT university, he said an amount of Rs15 million had been released for the purpose while PC-1 had also been approved. Another amount of Rs15 million would be released in December for the project, he added. “In addition, we are also planning to start MS in computer sciences and management sciences,” he said.

The CIIT Attock campus was established on April 4, 2004, with the vision to impart quality education to the youth of the district.

The rector said despite financial constraints, they were working to enhance labs, libraries and other facilities at the campus.
