SUKKUR: PPP faces uphill task in Sukkur

SUKKUR, Sept 20: The People’s Party Parliamentarians will face an uphill task in the constituency of NA-198 Sukkur where its nominee Khurshid Shah is facing the Pakistan Muslim League-F’s Abdul Qadir Ghumro and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Razzak Khoso, son of Sindh minister Muqim Khoso.

Jalil Ahmed Khawaja of the PML-N and Sardar Ali Shah of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) are also candidates for this seat.

The MQM and the PML-F are said to have evolved a joint strategy against the PPP on this seat. According to their strategy, Ghumro will be supported by the MQM on this seat and in return, the MQM candidate for a Mirpurkhas NA seat will be supported by the Hur voters of Pir Pagaro.

From NA-199 Sukkur, the PPP’s Mujib Pirzada is pitched against Taj Mohammad Shaikh of the Sindh Democratic Alliance and Moulana Asad Thanvi of the Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal.

From PS-1 Sukkur, the PPP has fielded Dr Nasrullah Baloch against Sultan Mehmood Yusufi of the MQM and Abdul Mateen Bandhani of the MMA.

The PPP dissidents, Shoukat Baloch and Shafqat Ali Masoomi are also candidates from this constituency.

From PS-2 Sukkur, the PPP candidate, Anwer Ali Maher, is facing Mian Ghulam Rasool Qureshi of the MMA and his party’s dissident, Shoukat Baloch.

From PS-3 Sukkur Jam Saifullah Dharejo is contesting on the PPP ticket against the MQM’s Ali Mardan Chachar and the PTI’s Manzoor Soomro.

From PS-4 Sukkur, the PPP has fielded Javed Shah who will face the MQM’s Asif Qazi and the SDA’s Mohammad Ali Shaikh.
