QUETTA, Nov 16 The Balochistan National Party-Mengal observed a “black day” on Tuesday in protest against a statement by Interior Minister Rehman Malik about the possible involvement of relatives in the murder of Habib Jalib Baloch.
BNP-M's workers and sympathisers wore black arm bands and hoisted black flags on party offices, houses and vehicles in Quetta and some other cities of Balochistan.
BNP-M's information secretary Agha Hasan Baloch claimed in a statement that the “black day” was observed in Nushki, Dalbandin, Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Hub, Panjgur, Kharan, Gwadar, Pasni, Turbat, Sibi and Nasirabad.
He said the minister's statement was aimed at diverting attention from the real killers of Mr Baloch as it sought to implicate his family members in his killing. He said the BNP-M firmly believed that intelligence agencies were behind the murder. He condemned what he called target killing of Baloch political workers, disappearance of youths and raids on the houses of political activists.—Correspondent
