QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has asked the chief minister to arrange a high-level meeting with provincial heads of secret agencies to resolve the issue of missing people.
A division bench of the BHC comprising Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel and Justice Syeda Tahira Safdar said the situation in the province, particularly on the highways, was grim as people at large felt insecure.
The details of the hearing held earlier in the week were released on Friday.
The court, which had taken suo motu notice of the disappearance of people, said that although the police were investigating the case, no progress had been made and to resolve the issue.
Now the chief minister should arrange a meeting with heads of secret agencies concerned to take appropriate steps for the recovery of the missing people and to ensure fool-proof security to people during travel.
The court directed the advocate general to submit a report about the progress at the next hearing.
The deputy attorney general in his reply said that none of the agencies was involved in the kidnapping of missing people.
The hearing of the case was adjourned for three weeks.
