Nine patients of eye diseases were referred to Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Rawalpindi, for further treatment while 120 persons with weak eyesight were provided spectacles free of charge.

Tahir Zafar also distributed biscuits and sweets among the children and provided cash assistance to the disabled.

The flood affected people told Mr Zafar that different NGOs had been providing them food items and other relief goods till the end of Ramazan but afterwards they received no assistance and were currently facing extremely difficult circumstances. They appealed to the government to extend financial assistance to them so that they could reconstruct their houses and rehabilitate their livelihoods. —Correspondent
