QUETTA, Dec 8: The Balochistan High Court ordered the provincial fisheries department on Wednesday to strictly enforce the laws, rules and regulations prohibiting the use of illegal nets.A bench comprising Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Syeda Tahira Safdar issued the order on a petition filed by Abdul Latif Mandra and others. The petitioners said that small fish were caught by illegal nets.

They submitted photographs and a DVD as evidence and alleged that local functionaries of the fisheries department were also involved.

The additional advocate general said he would submit a detailed counter-affidavit. The hearing was adjourned till Dec 20.
