LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested on Sunday the brother-in-law of Hamid Saeed Kazmi, the former religious affairs minister, for his alleged involvement in the Haj scam.

According to sources, a team of FIA, headed by Assistant Director Hammad Ahmad, arrested Abdullah Mahmood Khokhar from his residence in Lahore.

FIA Director Zafar Qureshi said the agency’s headquarters directed the Lahore office to arrest Mr Khokhar for his alleged involvement in the scam. He said the accused was handed over to the FIA headquarters.

He said that Mr Khokhar was facing charges of getting money from travel agents as commission.—Staff Reporter
