ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday termed the three-day state visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to Pakistan as highly successful and a step towards further bringing the people of the two countries even more closer to each other.
He said that Wen Jiabao's visit will further strengthen the strategic ties of the two countries.
He said billions of dollars agreements and MoUs were signed between the two friendly countries which will open new vistas of mutual economic cooperation.
The Minister said that the Chinese premier fully endorsed the Pakistani stand on terrorism. Wen Jiabao while appreciating the great efforts of Pakistan to root out the menace of terrorism also acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by the country in this regard.
The Foreign Minister said that the Chinese Premier's visit to Pakistan was of great significance in advancing the all-weather strategic partnership of cooperation between the two friendly countries.
He said that Chinese PM also reaffirmed China's support to Pakistan in its efforts to safeguard national sovereignty and social stability, and to achieve economic independence and sustainable development.
To a question he said the Business Forum was convened specifically to help the two countries to achieve the target of US$ 15 billion trade by 2015.
