Usman Khawaja made his Test debut for Australia, against England in the fifth Ashes Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Khawaja became the first Muslim player to represent Australia at international level and also the first cricketer of Pakistani origin to wear the baggy green. Despite being dismissed after 37 runs, Khawaja impressed cricket experts and fans alike, as he replaced the injured Ricky Ponting.
