KARACHI, Jan 18: The Sindh government has declared Jan 19 (Wednesday) a provincial holiday on account of the Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.

A notification issued here on Tuesday said that the 14th of Safar, 1432, corresponding to Jan 19, 2011, would be a public holiday for all provincial offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils under the administrative control of the government of Sindh across the province.

Meanwhile, the provincial education department has announced that all educational institutions in Sindh will remain closed on Wednesday (Jan 19) and Tuesday (Jan 25).

It said that Jan 25 had been declared a public holiday on account of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain.

In their respective notifications, the University of Karachi and the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology have also announced a closed holiday on Jan 19.
